Cosmic Crystals

Cosmic Crystals (working title) is a survival/action shooter I cooked up for the 2023 "My First Game Jam". I started over a week late, but wanted to get a working build submitted nonetheless! It is set in space and for some reason I decided to go with a crystal themed art style that I think turned out pretty sleek considering its the first time I've really tried creating my own game assets. The title screen music was also created by me in beepbox, so that's why its pretty scuffed (-_-)

How to play: 

The object of the game is to defend your galaxy from the never-ending onslaught of crystallized aliens. There are two types of enemy; smaller red ones with the ability to stick to each other, as well as larger orange ones which fire lasers at you. You must dodge the moving enemies and lasers while trying to blast as many of them as you can before you either get overrun or killed. But fear not, for you are equipped with your own laser-cannon with infinite ammunition and the enemies occasionally drop power-ups upon death! Manage your resources wisely and stay focused on your mission to rack up as many points as possible.

Power-ups:

• Red Crystals heal you
• Blue Crystals charge your teleport ability
• Green Crystals supply you with rocket ammunition (rockets deal more damage and phase through basic enemies)

Controls:

• Move with WASD or Arrow Keys
• Aim with Mouse Cursor
• Shoot with Left Mouse Button
• Fire rocket with Right Mouse Button
• Teleport to spot of Mouse Cursor by pressing SPACE
